Ramen Ramble 🍜
Ready for an afternoon of fresh air, a good leg stretch, and a steaming bowl of delicious ramen at the finish line?
Here’s the plan:
Walk Level: Mixed – some challenging parts (especially uphill near the Hemlock Stone), but plenty of easier sections too. It’s a workout, but a fun one!
Walk Duration: Around 2.5 hours
Meal Duration: However long you like – enjoy it!
When: Saturday 9th August, 2025
Start Time: Meet at 1:45pm in Bramcote Park car park (parking is free).
Walk Start: We leave promptly at 2pm.
Finish Time: Around 5:30pm (depending on the pace).
Ramen Reservation: 4:30pm at Ramen Hassaku, a brilliant little ramen restaurant in Stapleford.
Route: We'll set off from Bramcote Park, head past the iconic Hemlock Stone, climb through the woods (brace yourself for a bit of an incline!), then stroll down into open parkland. From there, we’ll join the Erewash Trail and wander along the peaceful Erewash Canal before heading into Stapleford for a well-earned feast.
Pace:
We'll walk at a steady, social pace, but please be prepared for a solid 2.5-hour walk with a few hills and uneven paths.
Accessibility:
Some sections are on rougher ground and include hills, so unfortunately this walk is not fully accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
Weather Plan:
This is an all-weather walk (unless conditions are dangerous). Please check the forecast and dress appropriately. Waterproofs and layers are always a good idea but I’m hoping for some sun!
Cost:
It’s free to join the walk – you just need to pay for your food at the restaurant.
Most mains are around £12–£13.
Sides are about £5.
Drinks start from £2.50.
Please bring cash they don’t accept cards.
What to Bring:
Comfy walking shoes (trainers or boots)
A water bottle
Weather-appropriate gear (coat, hat, sunscreen depending on the day)
Walking poles if you have them – for the climb down!
Some cash for your meal
A big appetite!
Photos:
We may take a few group photos during the walk – if you'd prefer not to be in any, just let me know at the start!
