From couch to Caribbean: how Rosie helped me get strong enough for the adventure of a lifetime
When I started working with Rosie, my goal was very simple: to get fitter and more mobile so I could enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime Caribbean cruise. I hadn’t been to a gym for over a decade and didn’t have much confidence in my body.
Rosie met me exactly where I was. We started very gently, building strength step by step, and she helped me understand how to properly nourish my body – not through fad diets, but with mindful, sustainable nutrition that supports my brains, body and bones.
I’m part of Rosie’s Stronger, Fitter You small group, and the group work has been brilliant. Training with just a few other women creates such a supportive, welcoming space. We encourage each other, have a real laugh, and it never feels intimidating. That sense of connection has really helped me stay motivated.
I’ll be honest – I still have the odd wobble – but Rosie is incredibly supportive and helps me keep on track without judgement. The accountability works so well for me. Alongside weekly in-person sessions, I have a monthly check-in call, a group chat that keeps us connected and encouraging one another, and an app that makes everything feel manageable.
The app shows exactly what exercises I need to do at home, with short videos so I can check my form. When I log my sessions, Rosie can see them, which keeps me gently accountable. I train with Rosie on a Tuesday and do my home sessions on Sundays and Thursdays, and knowing she’s there, supporting me, makes all the difference.
After just a few months, I achieved far more than I ever expected. On my cruise I didn’t just manage the easy excursions – I chose active ones. I climbed steep steps to swim under a rainforest waterfall, pulled myself back into a speedboat after snorkelling, and even used the ship’s gym – something I’d never imagined doing.
I’ve genuinely blossomed with Rosie. I’m stronger, fitter, and this is the first time something has actually stuck. This is an ongoing journey, and I’m excited to keep going, with more adventures ahead.
